Medical Calibration ; In the healthcare industry, measurement accuracy directly impacts human lives and the success of treatment processes. At Rezonans Calibration, we provide medical calibration (biomedical metrology) services in compliance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and IEC 60601 standards to optimize the performance of medical devices used in hospitals, medical centers, and laboratories.

It is not enough for medical devices to simply be operational; they must report vital signs accurately and deliver treatment dosages without error. With our expert biomedical team, we certify the reliability of your equipment with internationally traceable certificates.

What is Medical Calibration and Why is it Vital?

Medical calibration is the process of verifying the values measured or administered by a medical device (such as pressure, flow, energy, and temperature) by comparing them against high-precision biomedical test simulators.

The critical benefits of regular medical device calibration include:

  • Patient Safety: Eliminates the risks of misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment.
  • Device Longevity and Performance: Extends the device’s lifespan by enabling the early detection of potential failures.
  • Legal Requirement: Mandatory for Ministry of Health audits, Health Quality Standards (SKS), and JCI accreditation processes.
  • Legal Protection: Serves as a legal document proving the device was functioning correctly in the event of a potential malpractice claim.

Our Biomedical Metrology Process

The calibration of medical devices is conducted through a rigorous protocol tailored to the requirements of the clinical environment:

  1. Electrical Safety Testing (EST): Before calibration, devices are checked for leakage current and ground line integrity according to IEC 62353 standards.
  2. Performance Testing and Simulation: Device responses are measured using patient simulators (ECG, NIBP, SpO2 simulators, etc.).
  3. Error Margin Analysis: Measurement deviations are evaluated within manufacturer tolerances and international limits.
  4. Comprehensive Reporting: QR-coded, traceable certificates are issued for each device, including identification details, measurement results, and uncertainty values.

Why Choose Rezonans Calibration?

  • Biomedical Expertise: A technical staff specifically trained in medical device technologies.
  • Advanced Simulator Fleet: Measurement using world-leading test equipment such as Fluke Biomedical.
  • On-Site Service: On-site calibration solutions within the hospital environment to ensure healthcare services are not interrupted.
  • Integrated Solutions: A single point of contact for calibrating both medical devices and laboratory equipment, such as scales and volumetric glassware.

Medical Calibration

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should medical devices be calibrated?

According to the Ministry of Health and international standards, medical devices must be calibrated at least once a year. However, devices under heavy use or those repaired after a malfunction should be checked immediately, regardless of the period.

Why should an Electrical Safety Test (EST) be performed for every device?

EST measures the risk of the device giving an electric shock to the patient or user. As a fundamental part of calibration, this test guarantees the physical safety of the device.

What should be done for medical devices that fail calibration?

Devices with deviations outside of tolerances are labeled as “Out of Service.” Our technical team will inform you regarding adjustment or repair; following repair, the device is recalibrated.

Do you provide on-site medical calibration services?

Yes. In facilities where moving equipment is difficult, such as hospitals and medical centers, we provide on-site services with our mobile test units to ensure operational efficiency.

Are your calibration certificates valid for audits (SKS, Baby-Friendly Hospital, etc.)?

Yes. All reports issued by Rezonans Calibration are fully valid for audits conducted by the Ministry of Health, ILAC MRA NAC 17025 , and other quality management systems.
