How often should calipers and micrometers be calibrated?

Depending on the intensity of use, it is generally recommended every 12 months. However, for precision tools used very frequently on mass production lines, this period can be reduced to 6 months.

Why must dimensional calibration be performed at a constant temperature (20°C)?

Metal equipment expands or contracts due to temperature differences. To capture a standard reference point and accurately detect deviations, the globally accepted 20°C environment is essential.

Can a damaged or worn caliper be calibrated?

Calibration is a status determination. If the jaws of the device are worn and the measurement results are out of tolerance, this will be stated in the calibration report. It is recommended to replace severely damaged devices rather than calibrate them.

Do you provide on-site dimensional calibration?

Yes, we provide on-site services especially for large surface plates, microscopes, or sensitive measurement systems that are risky to transport.

Is a “Statement of Conformity” included in the calibration certificate?
